Coffees from Ecuador are rather rare in Europes coffee scene. Yet, one has been opening up this world to us many years ago. Esben close friend and founder of La Cabra has shared those expressive lots from Hacienda La Papaya which stood out on the cupping tables by far to all others which where already at very high level.
Esben and Juan have met at the cozy Graven Location in Aarhus in 2015. Juan started farming ‚only‘ in 2010 which was just before specialty coffee kicked off. He is a Agricultural engineer and used to farm Roses but today is fully focused on pushing an incredible cup quality.
This Geisha lot sits in such perfect balance of that precise natural fermentation adding sweetness and that delicate easy to overrule Geisha profile. This is not to sell you the package, this is to make sure you give it a try! It is so-so well done and on point in fermentation it will take some time till you brew some‘ like this!
